French Garden Faux Bois Table and 4 Chairs

French Garden Faux Bois Concrete Table and (4) Arm Chairs

French Garden Faux Bois Table and 4 Chairs
Although made from concrete, these wraparound garden chairs are actually quite comfortable and are still in their original condition. The faux bois (French for false wood) is an artistic imitation of wood graining in different media. The French commonly call faux bois as, "rocailleur". Examples of the faux bois artform survive at Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, a Paris exposition in 1867. We have friends, who in the late 1960’s, were driving in France and were making home movies. Their movies show, that the French used their faux bois garden sets, at rest stops along the highway. Now of course, the French faux bois, has become too valuable and were highlighted once in a ten page article, in Martha Stewart’s magazine, showcasing her personal collection of faux bois. **Measurements provided are for the table. The chairs are 29.5" high, 16.75" seat height, 22.5" wide and 23.25" deep.
