Antique French trestle table from the Southwest Region of France. Our French farm table was found at the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountain range, which separate France from Spain. Structurally, the table was quite strong and we are guessing that whomever built the farm style trestle table, may have also built butcher blocks. The reason we have come to this conclusion, is that the boards are bolted together from underneath. This technique was commonly used on butcher blocks, but rarely seen on a French dining table. Beautiful thick 2 3/4" white oak top, with numerous round plugs and those are fairly common on old French dining tables. Great worn looking patina and will last for decades to come. Condition: Repaired: Minor repairs made under the table top, but nothing on the top surface itself. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Structurally sound and cosmetically left alone.
