Have to say, that in the almost 25 years of buying in France, we have never seen a marble and mahogany dining table quite like this. The table definitely dates from the 1800s and it is quite apparent that someone fabricated a third leaf, making for a total of three. When you have the original two leaves installed, you can see that they made the top surface from one beautiful slab of marble and all the graining matches perfectly. Our Old Plank workshop went completely through the table structure and refinished the mahogany in a rich correctly applied ebonized finish. The marble was thoroughly cleaned and still retains its original patina. Rare and gorgeous.
The table was part of a complete dining room suite and we do have the other items available for sale.
Measurements provided are for the table as it stands in the main image (with two leaves). With three leaves, the width is 102.75". Without any leaves, the diameter is 43.5".
