An absolutely stunning, Antique French commode from the 1800s. The burl walnut bookmatched veneer was so stunning, that we immediately sent the commode through our old plank workshop. The French commode then went through over 40 hours in the restoration department, carefully going through each drawer, so it would glide as new, rebuilding the carcass, so that it would remain trouble free for the next 100 years. Then, our French commode was sent into the finishing department, for a traditional French polish, which was applied by hand, one layer at a time, until the finish looked like “candy”. The marble top had a prior repair, so, we went over it and brought it up to our standards. Please note, that the marble is ever so slightly lighter on the right side, than the rest of the top. I think this is just how it was quarried and is not a defect.
