Antique French desk in the style of Louis XIII and probably made around the turn of the century. We found this Louis XIII style desk in the Toulouse area of France, which is known for its high-quality furniture. The desk is made from solid French walnut with beautiful barley twist legs. What makes this antique French desk so unusual, is that it was never restored or had any repair work, or at least that we can see. The walnut has that southern French warmth to the color and the patina is just perfect. Our restoration department went through the desk structurally, after which our finishers just applied a few thin layers of a natural French imported beeswax.
