Antique Pair of French Oak Bonnetieres

Antique Pair of French Oak Bonnetiere's, Amroires or Cupboards from the 1700's

Antique Pair of French Oak Bonnetieres
One wonders how a pair of Louis XIII 250-year-old French bonnetieres, cupboards, armoires or what have you, could possibly stay together that long, without be separated? We instructed our Old Plank restoration department, not to over restore the matched pair of armoires, but rather, just clean them up and make sure they are structurally sound and function as intended. When you look at the sides of the antique French Louis XIII cabinets, you will notice some differences, but more importantly, the pair of armoires fronts do match. Just a brief note on Louis XIII. Louis XIII ascended to the throne in 1610 after his father was assassinated, then his mother Marie de' Medici became his Regent. When Louis XIII became of age at thirteen, his mother refused to give up her position as Regent until he was 16.
