Antique French Confit Pot w/Golden Glaze

Antique French Confit Pot w/Golden Glaze

Antique French Confit Pot w/Golden Glaze
Absolutely stunning, each and every antique French confit pot is a surviving piece of utilitarian pottery made well over 100 years ago. There is no such thing as a perfect pot, these were made long before refrigeration was invented for the storage of meats and other things, primarily duck. We find them in many varying conditions, some have chips, holes, cracks and often times missing one or both handles, too. We happen to like their appearance in whichever condition they arrive, the damages provide character and show signs of use. Over the years, we've seen these fitted as lamp bases, used as kitchen decor, and utilized in many different ways. I would dare say the majority were glazed in the gold or jaune color shown above however, the green ones and the tiny sizes are the most hard to get; thus being most expensive.
