Pair of Antique Greek Olive Oil or Wine Amphora's

Pair of Antique Olive Oil or Wine Amphoras
Huge olive oil jar, but are technically called an amphora (Greek: amphoreus), which is a type of container, with two vertical handles in a specific shape and size, designed to carry wine and olive oil. Amphora is derived from the Greek word amphi-phoreus, which means; carry on both sides. Amphora date all the way back to the Neolithic period, which in Greece dates from 6800-3200 BC. Today, we find interior designers use the amphora vases as you would a sculpture for your home or garden. These in particular are huge over four-feet high olive oil jars, and were found in the yard of a Chateau on the outskirts of Bordeaux.
