Mounted mechanical corkscrews were originally known as “coffee grinder” or “crank and pump” and date to the late 1800’s. In most wine openers, the worm was attached to a steel stem, with crank, inserted through a cast iron frame with a wooden lever. Our Titan antique corkscrew opener is one that you would find in a French bistro. Judging by its appearance, I would safely say that it has opened 1000’s of bottles of wine. The chrome finish has seen better days, but the patina for us at least, is too nice to play with. Functions just as one would expect and opens your favorite bottle of Bordeaux in seconds. Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Works great, lovely patina, but the chrome has seen better days.
