German Shepherd Louis-Albert Carvin Sculpture
Spelter sculpture by Louis-Albert Carvin. Born in Paris in 1875, Carvin studied under Gardet and Fremiet. He was a member of the Society des Artistes Fran├žais and he exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais from 1894 until 1933 and received the Medal of Honor in 1894. He sculpted lions, panthers, birds, dogs (especially shepherds for which he is particularly noted) and horses.
