There is a part of me that would rather call this a Directoire style French commode, but I think most people see it as a French, Louis XVI commode, either way, this one is older than most we find. The drawers for example, are single dove-tail and are made from thick solid wood, with none of that thin plywood used for the drawer bottoms. Our Old Plank workshop, hand scrapped the finish to the bare wood, before applying a multitude of layers of different stains, to establish that old world appearance. We went through the functions of the drawers, so that they would once again glide with ease. This is a great Classic look, that will stay in style forever.
