One of three monumental tables recently purchased from the same reputable Italian antique dealer, this remarkable 15’ 7” Italian work table is originally from an Umbria region monastery dating all the way back to the 14th century. An awesome size, this outrageous table would make a noble and unique dining table seating close to 20 people very easily. Its use of exceptional, beautifully grained mahogany and walnut hardwoods, give this table not only a finish second to none but, a plethora of distinctive robust significance, too. Constructed around 1820 utilizing superior old-world craftsmanship; this regal table will easily last another 200 years without issue. One can easily tell this table is old due to the fact that the top was originally one single board; unsure exactly why but, it is currently in two pieces. Easily recognized as a traditional monastery table; its overall length mated with those carved corners, reputes any doubt. Medallion decorated baluster form trestles give this table a sturdy footing, solid enough for any family reunion or holiday banquet. Given a sympathetic restoration by our renowned in-house workshop, we chose to keep this fine table as original as we could but, made sure it was structurally solid and fit. It wasn't an easy task maneuvering this table throughout our shop, so we decided right then and there that the top must me made removable. One of our best decisions, we gave it a lot of consideration but, ultimately knew we had made the right one.
