Although King Louis XIII of France died in 1643, his style of furniture has endured centuries and is still being produced to this day. This armoire was made in the 1700’s and therefore it would be referred to as, "in the style of Louis XIII". There are all the classic proportions of a 1600’s armoire, notably the wide and lowered profile and the rustic construction of heavy white oak and chestnut. Our workshop spent about 4 weeks going through all the joints and carefully restoring the carcass for the next 100 years. Heck, it even has it's original lock and key and it functions properly.
