Parisian Dessert Cooker, Kitchen Island or Vanity

Parisian Dessert Cooker, Kitchen Island or Vanity
Our best hypothesis is that this was used in an upscale Parisian restaurant, to make flaming desserts at your dining table. Currently it is set up to use a propane tank as a heat source, but somehow I rather envisioned it as a powder room vanity, with an old piece of Carrara set into top. Conversely, you could also set a butcher block, or stone on top and use it was a movable kitchen island, or next to your barbeque? The options are endless, but what is constant is the fabulous look. In reference to the date listed below; it is only my best guess.
