Country French style dining table, that comfortably seats (12) people or (14), if you would like to double up the ends. This particular Country French style table, was made entirely of reclaimed lumber, much of which was imported from France. Our Old Plank workshop, built this table to last at least a 100-years and they are available in any size, finish or wood species. The hand-hammered steel corner brackets are optional, but some of the old French dining tables we import, do have the metal corners and we like the look. The wide centre board was split and butterflied to give a book-matched appearance. For the final finish, we executed an English polish, which is essentially applying a crystal-clear lacquer by hand, with a cotton pad (cheesecloth) and layering it up, until the grain is filled. This gives the table the look of an old thick wax appearance, without any of the maintenance of a waxed finish.
