Our obsession with French leather club chairs began while visiting an antique store called Joie de Vie, just outside of Petoskey, Michigan during the 1980s and we were hooked. Fast forward 25 years and over 1000 club chairs later and we have not slowed in our pursuit of great old leather chairs. We all know that every chair is going to sit different, but as a good general rule of thumb, French club chairs are really very comfortable. In the past I have only seen this model once before and it was in a movie showing a British gentlemen’s club in South Africa. These are beyond the word comfortable and they are “the” most comfortable leather club chairs we have ever owned. Our upholstery department re-tied the coil springs and added horsehair padding where needed. All of the leather is original and judging by the casters, I am going to guess that these are a bit older than the typical French club chair, probably late teens or early 1920s. As my good friend Reggie used to say; “this is as good as it gets.”
