Cigar Store Indian

Cigar Store Indian

Cigar Store Indian
Cigar store Indian and although it appears to be turn-of-the-century, we think it could be made in the 1950s and remains in unrestored condition with great patina. The Cigar Indians first appeared in the late 1600s on the European continent and were used as a sign by tobacconists, because most people were illiterate at the time. American Cigar Store Indians became popular in the mid-late 1700s. Collectors now consider the Cigar Store Indians to be Folk Art.
