Antique French Drapers table or Très Grand Kitchen Island, circa 1900-1920. For more than 25 years, our Old Plank workshop, has been converting antique French and English shop fittings, store counters and draper’s tables, into incredible looking and extremely functional kitchen islands. Just look at the number (24) and size of these extra deep drawers and is it my imagination, or are there never enough deep drawers (24”x 17”x 8.5”) in your kitchen? This enormous, French draper work table, measures a staggering 10’ in length and 5’ in depth. In converting antique French and antique English work tables for decades, we have never seen one, anywhere close to these dimensions, that was genuine and not something cobbled up from old bits, sitting in a workshops corner. Our French work table, was found near the city of Pau, which has been occupied, at least since the Gallo-Roman period. The city of Pau, sits at the northern edge of the Pyrenees Mountains and just 60 miles in from the Atlantic Ocean. Before you even ask, the answer is yes, we can raise the height, to whatever you like.
