Absolutely incredible original antique French Louis Philippe 2 drawer over 4 door configured buffet or sideboard. This fine antique buffet has some of the prettiest and most outstanding wood showcased in its construction that I have ever seen. This entire buffet utilizes wild cherry wood, the front being more exotic, book-matched and figured while the sides are not. Incorporating a fine beadwork detail just below the stunning stone top adds just a hint of decoration to this otherwise clean lined and well functioning masterpiece.
Need storage? Not to worry, this sensational buffet is not just a pretty face. This old-world craftsmanship constructed buffet offers a plethora of storage within its generous but, manageable footprint. Two half width drawers sit over four exquisite and breathtaking doors (all locking), that rest elevated on a substantial and regal base. This special buffet would be welcome in any room of the home. Utilized in the dining room, this buffet would help serve holiday dinners with ease, in the living room holding ugly but, functional electronics beneath the TV, or as a spectacular console in a grand entry foyer, proudly welcoming visitors and guests to your lovely abode. No matter how you ultimately decide to use this masterpiece, I am sure it will bring you and your family many years of substantial service and happiness for many generations to come.
Louis Philippe I (6 October 1773 -- 26 August 1850) was King of the French people from 1830 to 1848 in what was known as the July Monarchy. His father was a duke who supported the French Revolution but, was nevertheless guillotined. Louis Philippe fled France as a young man and spent 21 years in exile. He was proclaimed king in 1830 after King Charles X was forced to abdicate. Louis Philippe himself was forced to abdicate in 1848 and lived the rest of his life in exile, in England. He was the last king to rule France, although Emperor Napoleon III would serve as its last monarch.
