Real sheep fur over a heavily constructed frame, with solid bronze legs. This sheep ottoman pays homage to the French sculptors, Claude and Francois-Xavier Lalanne. Famous for his animal sculptures in the 1960s and 1970s, Lalanne worked tightly with his wife, Claude, whom he met in the 1950s. While his wife preferred plant life, Francois-Xavier preferred animals cast in bronze with wooden sub-frames and wrapped in real animal fur. François-Xavier Lalanne, French Artist, 1927–2008.
