French Antique Art Nouveau Desk

Marvelous hand-carved antique French walnut Art Nouveau desk with original hand-beveled, glazed, bookcase top and its original tooled leather writing surfaces, all in excellent fully restored condition. Art Nouveau furniture is known for its delicate, graceful, flowing lines and this secretary has utilized them all. From its side paper holders to its pigeon holes (letter holders), to the interesting whiplash decorated feet this is an exceptional desk. We have been unable to find a mark or signature of the creator of this piece but it is likely from the French School started by E.Galle, it is very rare that those pieces are signed. This magnificent example should be owned by someone who appreciates great quality and craftsmanship in the rare Art Nouveau style. France, circa 1900
