Bookcase with Antique Pediment

A Neoclassical painted wood library bookcase consisting of architectural elements reclaimed from a historical building in Grovesner Square, London, including a carved broken pediment and an Adam Style frieze. The upper pediment features acanthus leaf framing above graduated bands of floral and egg-and-dart motif centered by a volute-shaped pedestal featuring a flared acanthus leaf. The recessed frieze is framed by egg-and-dart borders and features a classical urn design flanked by scrolling arabesque details and panels of bell-flower swags at both sides. Two lower doors feature carved urns and egg-and-dart and floral banding.
