An outstanding pine linen press with an elaborate scrolled and shaped bracket tulip pediments above two fitted doors with stylized framing and cantered sides with volute motif. The bombe-shaped lower bank of three large drawers maintain the original hardware. The piece rests on a scalloped apron and scrolled splayed feet. Dimensions shown are overall measurements, not internal measurements. These were once used by Holland's premier tulip growers to not only supply obvious storage for their fine linens, but also to provide display pediments for their prized tulip varieties. Circa 1780, Holland.
