Antique French Directoire Painted Armchair

Antique Directoire flat-back armchair with the original French blue and cream paint and original horsehair. The carved frame has all the characteristics of the Directoire style including the shape of the arms and arm supports, the fluted legs, recessed die joints with rosettes and rolled chair back. This chair is structurally sound and has been fully restored including springs,upholstery, and some new padding. Seat height is 17".  France, circa 1850
