Pair Antique Carved Italian Armchairs

Pair antique carved and painted armchairs with X-stretcher and scrolled feet.  Although these chairs are over 150 years old, they are in superb all-original condition inlcuding the upholstery. The gilded acanthus leaf and shell motif carvings are accented with bronze highlights and the shell crested chair back and chair rail have a diaper ground with dots. Italy circa 1850
