Antique Italian Desk or Dressing Table with Carved Panels

Phenomenal 19th century Italian carved and gilded 6 drawer desk or vanity, incorporating two 18th century Italian panels as drawer fronts. As soon as we saw this desk, we immediately recognized the fact that somebody over 100 years ago had had the forsight save these two hand-carved Italian panels. They are decorated with cherubim, scrolls, and boughs making this a unique piece that would mix well with almost any decor from Spanish to modern. This stunning desk is in original unrestored condition and would work equally  well as a lady's dressing table. The panels on the back are the same as the side panels so this wonderful piece of furniture could "float" in a room. Italy, 19th century
