Antique French Oval Figured Walnut Wine Tasting Table

Oval antique French figured walnut tilt-top wine tasting table. Most of these tables were pine and covered with oil-cloth, only occasionally do we find one constructed of cherry or walnut. Take yourself back to the vineyards of 19th century France, the harvest is in, the wine is fermenting and it's time to sample the new vintage. Someone gets the glasses and where to put them? That's when this magnificent solid walnut wine tasting table was set up and the swooshing, slurping and swallowing ensued. This table is structurally sound, has a wonderful patina and is ready for another 100+ years use. It is in very nice original condition and would be ideal for modern wine cellars, kitchens or as a unique games table in the living room. The crevices between the boards can be filled with hard wax on request.The measurements shown are for the table in its upright position. With the top horizontal, the table is 29" high, 59" long and 44" deep. France circa 1880
