Spectacular hand-carved antique Louis XVI  salon table with original painted finish. The black slate top is inset and framed by the slightly overhung molding. The apron has an intricate pattern of open fretwork carvings while the front is centered with a torch, quiver, ribbon and acanthus leaves.  Upper carvings adorn the fluted legs with die joints, all connected with a shaped cross stretcher with an impressive carved urn finial.  Italy circa 1780
