Antique French Needlepoint Sette

Spectacular hand-carved figured walnut, antique French Louis XV style settee retaining its original needlepoint upholstery. With its graceful serpentine front, free flowing arms, and incredible carved aprons and legs, this settee has wonderful visual appeal. Although in very nice original condition, a few rows of needlepoint upwards left on the back are non-existent (see detailed photos), otherwise the upholstery is outstanding. Great carvings are measured in depth and as you can see, the aprons are carved rather deeply. This settee is a real find, it sets the stage with not only a beautiful carved frame, but with its breathtaking needlepoint too. Seat height is 18.5". France circa 1880
